The Great Baobab
The huge old tree at the edge of Nakarra, broad enough to shame three men standing shoulder to shoulder.

A thatched clay-hut village in a valley of green lowlands, with grazing land, a market edge with canvas awnings, a meeting hut, a guest shelter, a smithy, an orchard with a stream, and the Great Baobab at its edge. It is Kofi's home, the place where his forge begins to answer him and the place the Watchers come to measure. The films open and close on it.
Predawn held Nakarra in a blue-gray stillness.
The Quest of the Remnant, Part 1, ch. 1

The Quest of the Remnant, Part 1, ch. 3
Nakarra lay below them like a held breath.
The Watchers, Part 1, ch. 3
In and around Nakarra

The huge old tree at the edge of Nakarra, broad enough to shame three men standing shoulder to shoulder.

The clay-walled forge of Kofi's father Kwame, where Kofi first sees the golden and blue arcs in the sparks.
Fruit trees in rows that thicken toward a stream. The Watchers call the calm that gathers there the "orchard hush".

Where an old man sits at a table with a book while light rays fall through the room.
